End-of-life
End-of-life, or EOL, is the date a vendor stops supporting a product version. After it there are no fixes. Check the date for the version you run, and separate it from end-of-sale, which stops new purchases and often comes first.
What End-of-life means
Dated cycles can be short. A version that retires every three months turns upgrading into a recurring project.
A vendor naming a successor without an end-of-sale date, as Palo Alto has for XSOAR, leaves the buyer to plan without a deadline.
