Gamebook
A Gamebook is Mate Security's term for an investigation procedure written as intent. It says what an agent must establish, what evidence it needs, which actions are allowed and when to escalate, instead of listing vendor API calls. Mate describes it; no independent technical review was found.
What Gamebook means
The idea is that a procedure describing intent survives a tool swap that would break a playbook's API calls. Mate's pages say a Flow, maintained by Mate, makes the actual tool call.
The same design leaves gaps. The pages describe Gamebooks as investigation procedures, so case sync and scheduled jobs are not covered, and no export of a Gamebook is documented.
Gamebook in Mate Security's own words
Mate's platform page defines a Gamebook as the process an AI agent follows: what must be investigated, which evidence is needed, which conditions change the path, which actions are permitted and when to escalate, stop or request approval. Mate Security documentation, read 2026-11-03
