Agentic platform
An agentic platform is a product that uses AI agents to run investigations or response, in place of or beside scripted playbooks. The label is a vendor category, not a standard. After SOAR uses it for products such as Torq and Mate and scores them on the same nine criteria.
What Agentic platform means
The label covers very different designs. Some keep a deterministic engine and add agents. Others drop playbooks and use procedures an agent interprets.
What they share is a claim that agents can handle whole alert categories. The evidence for that claim is mostly vendor figures with no published method.
Agentic platform in Torq's own words
Torq describes agents for triage, investigation, response, hunting and reporting that run on a context model recording verdicts, exceptions and overrides, and the page states no limits. Torq documentation, read 2026-11-03
