Data residency
Data residency is the rule or promise about which country or region holds your data. For a SOAR it covers cases, evidence and logs. Ask for the regions list, whether data is copied or queried in place, and what retention applies.
What Data residency means
A vendor that says regions are supported should list them. A trust page behind a script or a sign-in is not a list.
Agent platforms add a second question: which model providers see your data.
Data residency in Google Security Operations's own words
Google's product page FAQ says data residency for specific regions is supported and points to a regions list, which was not read. Google Security Operations documentation, read 2026-11-04
