Deterministic mode
Deterministic mode runs fixed steps in a fixed order, with no AI choice at run time. It is how a classic SOAR works. Products that add agents often keep it as one setting, so a team can run audited sequences and agent work side by side.
What Deterministic mode means
The same input gives the same path, which makes the run easy to test and explain to an auditor. It also means the logic is only as good as its author's foresight.
Check whether the deterministic engine is the same one customers used before the AI features arrived, because that decides how much old content still runs.
Deterministic mode in D3 Security's own words
D3's Morpheus keeps a deterministic playbook engine with the same lineage as legacy SOAR, beside case management, self-healing integrations and an audit trail per incident, a vendor claim. D3 Security documentation, read 2026-11-03
